A reminder that statements of interest for any of the five positions open on ACLA/CAAL’s Executive Council are due on Thursday, April 30. Please see below for further details.

Dear colleagues and ACLA Members,

I am writing with an update to Nominating Committee email I sent to you all on March 19, 2020. There is one additional mandate that will come to an end: President. This means that there are now five positions open on ACLA/CAAL’s Executive Council: 

President (NOTE that this means becoming Past President in 2022 until 2024)
Vice-President (NOTE that this means becoming president in 2022 until 2024) 
Secretary treasurer
Member-at-large
Student-member at large
If any of you are interested in these roles, you are asked to please get in touch with Andrea Sterzuk, andrea.sterzuk at uregina.ca <mailto:andrea.sterzuk at uregina.ca>, attaching your statement of interest (200-250 words), by April 30, 2020. Please note that you need to be a member of ACLA to be nominated and to be able to vote in the election. We invite you to renew your membership as soon as possible: http://www.aclacaal.org/membership/ <http://www.aclacaal.org/membership/>
We will inform the membership of your candidature. Any interested ACLA members should go to http://www.aclacaal.org/acla-constitution/ <http://www.aclacaal.org/acla-constitution/> and read it before confirming their interest to the Nominating Committee.

If there is more than one interested person, we will hold an election. The ballot, in case of an election, will be electronic and will be open for a period of one week immediately after the virtual Annual General Meeting on June 2, 2020.
