The theme of our seventh edition focuses on the role of culture in the teaching and learning of languages.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;line-height:18.0pt"><span lang="EN-US" style="color:#333333">The current global context is marked by broad social changes and increased prominence of culture-related issues. Hence, questions regarding teaching
and appropriating cultural knowledge, as well as developing cultural and/or intercultural competence occupy an important position in current language teaching research. These questions pose numerous challenges for applied linguists, teachers and learners,
including the problem of how to define culture itself. What transformations is research on the teaching and learning of languages currently confronted with? What are the components and objectives of (inter-) cultural competence? How can this competence be
operationalized, and how does it interface with linguistic, pragmatic and communicative competence? How can language teaching be adapted to increasingly diverse societies? What role should various institutions play in a culture’s legitimization, and how does
this legitimization take place?</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;line-height:18.0pt"><span lang="EN-US" style="color:#333333">In addition to these questions, language teachers and researchers inevitably face the challenge of transforming that knowledge into curriculum content.
Worthy of attention are the problems of the legitimacy of knowledge to be taught, the learner’s relation to the target culture and, more broadly, the selection of culture-related content. For example, can elements such as the classic novel, slam poetry, popular
music and humour be addressed side by side in the language classroom?</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

Le thème de la septième édition a pour axe principal la culture dans l’enseignement-apprentissage des langues.</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;line-height:18.0pt"><span lang="FR" style="color:#333333">En effet, dans un contexte mondial marqué par de grandes mutations sociales et par la montée des questions culturelles, les enjeux de l’enseignement/appropriation
de la culture, des compétences culturelles et/ou interculturelles ne cessent de s’imposer en didactique des langues. L’émergence des questions reliées à la culture pose donc de nombreux défis aux didacticiens, aux enseignants et aux apprenants. La problématique
de la définition de la culture met le chercheur et l’enseignant face à de nombreux défis. Quelles sont donc les mutations auxquelles la recherche en enseignement-apprentissage des langues sera confrontée ? Quelles seront les composantes, les finalités des
compétences culturelles et/ou interculturelles ? Quelles sont les difficultés que posent l’opérationnalité de ces dernières ? Comment les articuler aux compétences linguistiques, pragmatiques et communicatives ? Comment adapter les contenus d’enseignement
à l’hétérogénéité croissante des sociétés ? Et avant tout, quelle conception de la culture privilégier ? Quel est le rôle de certaines institutions dans le processus de légitimation d’une culture et comment s’opère cette légitimation ?</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt;line-height:18.0pt"><span lang="FR" style="color:#333333">En plus de ces défis, l’enseignant et le chercheur en enseignement-apprentissage des langues ne peuvent pas éluder les problèmes de la transposition didactique
et celui de la légitimité des objets à enseigner, le rapport à la culture de la part des apprenants et plus largement, les représentations sociales quant à la sélection des contenus relevant de la culture. Peut-on donc dans le processus de transposition didactique
mettre dans le même rang, à titre d’exemples, le roman classique, le slam, la chanson populaire et l’humour ?</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

culturales o interculturales se siguen presentando en la didáctica de lenguas. La emergencia</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:18.0pt"><span lang="FR">de cuestiones relacionadas con la cultura plantea numerosos desafíos a los investigadores, a los docentes y a los aprendientes. Por otra parte, la problemática de la definición de la cultura enfrenta
a los investigadores y a los docentes a numerosos desafíos. ¿A qué mutaciones estará confrontada la investigación en enseñanza-aprendizaje de lenguas? ¿Cuáles serán los componentes, las finalidades de las competencias culturales o interculturales? ¿Qué dificultades
presentan la operatividad de estas competencias? ¿Cómo articularlas a las competencias lingüísticas, pragmáticas y comunicativas? ¿Cómo adaptar los contenidos de la enseñanza a la heterogeneidad creciente de las sociedades? Y ante todo, ¿qué concepción de
la cultura privilegiar? ¿Cuál es el papel de ciertas instituciones en el proceso de legitimación de una cultura y cómo se opera esta legitimación?</span><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

de aprendizaje, la conexión de los aprendientes a la cultura y más ampliamente, las representaciones sociales relacionadas con la selección de contenidos culturales. ¿ Podemos entonces, en el proceso de transposición didáctica, poner en el mismo rango, en
