</span><span lang="EN-CA" style="font-size:11.5pt">The mention of anti-Black racism be added to the theme of Congress 2020: Bridging Divides (for example:
<i>Bridging Divides and Confronting Anti-Black racism</i>)”. </span><span lang="EN-CA" style="color:#1F497D;mso-fareast-language:EN-US">Mentioning
<i>racism</i> in the Congress 2020 theme is certainly important to do for many reasons; however, my concern is how the specificity of “<i>anti-Black</i> racism” may contribute to sidelining essential discussions around other racisms. Acknowledging my own naiveté
in these matters, I humbly ask our ACLA-CAAL colleagues working on anti-racist scholarship to weigh in on the concern I have raised about action #3.</span><span lang="EN-CA" style="font-size:11.5pt"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
