<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">Medical English as a lingua franca (MELF) constitutes an important trajectory for English as a lingua franca (ELF) research. The cross-border flow of health care professionals, along
with the dominant position of English in the field of medicine, has set the stage for MELF interactions to figure prominently in health care settings around the globe. Critics of ELF research have pointed to its relatively limited scope of contexts and domains
previously considered, and it is in this respect that MELF holds potential to extend ELF’s research breadth. This book will bring together recent research on the topic, considering MELF from multiple perspectives. </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
