<i>CMLR</i> aims to bring together articles that explore the intersections of new materialist perspectives and language education in a wide range of national and international contexts. We are particularly interested in data-driven, theoretical or practice-oriented
submissions that contribute to our understanding of the ways new materialist perspectives build knowledge and create innovative questions associated with the experiences of language teachers and learners.

but not limited to, the following themes: the agentive capabilities of material objects in language education (e.g., digital technology); affects and effects in language education; language teacher education; conducting new materialist research in language
education; language assessment; socio-material entanglements in language education; new materialist-oriented language acquisition; French as a second language, English as a second language, modern, heritage, indigenous, and community languages; language teaching;
