Basic I-E book advice?

As I recall, there's a useful chapter toward the end of:

Language history, language change, and language relationship: an
introduction to historical and comparative linguistics/by Hans
Henrich Hock, Brian D. Joseph Berlin; New York: Mouton de Gruyter,
1996.

I've recommended other sections of this book to very bright
first-year undergrads here at Georgetown.  They've enjoyed the
readings.
