"Japanese Break"

    Greetings from Ouxaca, Mexico.
    My guide here said that we´d have a ¨"Japanese stop"--a stop to take pictures.  He said that he heard the phrase in Vancouver.
    My guide in Capaccocia, Turkey, also gave a "Japanese break."  The other tourists laughed, as if it had been the first time they´d heard.
   Obviously, Japanese stop/ break (photo stop) has been around the world.  But who started it?
