Back East, Out West

I agree with the earlier comment. In my family, which has roots in Boston
and other nearby towns, it is always "back East," indicating, I think, our
consciousness of our family's one-time move from that direction.

California, when my sister lived there, was always California, but in
Missouri when people would flee the coop at 18, they might go to Texas, Chicago
or Out West.
