In the sense of "the cow goes 'moo' " yeah. Otherwise, I don't know of
anything before the 1960s. RHHDAS has a remarklable citation from
1942--remarkable because those of us who have written in quotatitive go
assumed that it arose in the 1960s and 1970s.
