swearing = profaning the sacred

Although we might not all accept the divinity of Bill Gates, we can
understand fear of Him and his consort, Ms. Windows. . .   To be
profaned, the object of the profanation has to be considered somehow
"sacred"--even if it's only a Sacred Cow--and so in order to detail what
constitutes swearing we'll have to identify what we hold "sacred."  I
suggest that we start with whatever is ridiculed on Saturday Night Live.
