On Slashdot, one of the stories describes a raid on a hobbyist electronics shop, accused by the Federal government of being in violation of laws preventing the manufacture and sale of radio transmitting devices that could be used for spying.Needless to say, it has riled libertarians and anti-Federalists.

A poster wrote this about the situation:

"In dutch we have an expression for these kinds of things: Amerikaanse toestanden. This translates approximately to 'American situations' with strong negative connotations. Needless to say it's never used in a positive sense."
