I began hearing/using the phrase "don't go there" at least 3 years ago. It does not necessarily mean "don't tease" -- it may mean simply "don't open up that topic in this venue." I don't recall ever hearing/using "I don't go there" to mean "I don't think about that," so there may be some variation in usage/sense. Bethany
