Recently, early January, there was a discussion of the pronunciation of
Demi Moore's first name. A story (titled: Current crop takes 'star
power' to new heights//Directors can lose control of film easily) in the
_Sunday Patriot News_ (Harrisburg, PA), 23 January 2000, p. E7,
discusses the power of today's movie stars. The story was written by
Tom Dew Matthews of The Guardian. The implied pronunciation is
different from that which I've always heard. [Offhand, I don't know if
it is The Guardian or the Guardian, or....]

In column one of the article, there is the sentence "Demi 'Gimme' Moore
. . . is particularly notorious for her demands, including once ordering
studio chiefs to charter two planes for her and her entourage. . . ."
>From my reading there is an implied rhyming of Demi and Gimme.

The above is merely an observation. My presumption about the implied
rhyme could be well off the mark. Not sure if it differs from
pronunciations presented in the earlier discussion or not.
