QUICHE LORRAINE

"I made the Quiche Lorraine."
--Barry Manilow, "I Made It Throught the Rain" song parody by Barry Popik,
way back in his "Real Men Don't Eat Quiche" days.

The NYPL menu collection has King Neptune's Dinner Party, Empress of
Britain World Cruise 1936, January 19, 1936, "Quiche Lorraine."

DON'T FORGET THE MOTOR CITY--I gotta go. Be back Sunday. What does OED have
on "Motor City" and "Motown," anyway?

DRINK BOOKS FROM CINCINNATI & LOUISVILLE--I asked the Cincinnati Historical
Society about their collection, but they have just THE MIXICOLOGIST. See
below. I also asked Louisville's Filson Club (www.filsonclub.org), but they
have yet to respond. Filson might not be on OCLC WorldCat, but there's a
very good chance that they have very rare American drink books.
