Hair cutting places

This is my understanding of the term "barber shop" as well. I go to a
"salon" to have my hair cut, colored, etc.

> To me, a barber shop has always been a place that does simple haircuts
(maybe feathering or some other common popular technique as well) for men
and maybe shaves. They don't do anything fancy, though. Parents and
grandparents take young kids (under 10 or 11) there for haircuts as well.
