Greetings from Brno. I just came from Austerlitz, where Napoleon defeated the Austrian and Russian forces in 1805. The place was great, but it desperately needs a song by ABBA...Which reminds me, I'm going to the Grant Barrett ancestral homeland. I need more ABBA records!

HOT LOVE

I saw "Hot Love" offered in Prague and now here in Brno. These ice cream combinations are on the ALGIDA (a brand like Nestle) list:

HOT LOVE--vanilla ice cream covered with warm raspberries and whipped cream
COUPE DENMARK--vanilla ice cream with warm chocolate sauce and whipped cream
STRACCIATELLA SUNDAE--ice cream with egg nog and whipped cream
ICE PANCAKES--pancakes filled with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and topping
KIDS SUNDAE; BANANA SPLIT; PEACH MELBA; STRAWBERRY SUNDAE; ICE COFFEE

FOOD MISC.

"Sopsky salad" (Schopscher salat) is a Bulgarian Salad that's popular everywhere.
"Bandit's pockets" were offered. I don't know how they differ from "Councilman's pockets." I guess it's just a meat pocket.
"Algerian Coffee" is offered everywhere. One recipe had Advocaat, coffee, whipped cream.
"Joe limonada" (another sighting; Joe Lemonade?) is "malinovy sirup, citronava stava, pomerancovy dzur, pomeranc, citron."
"Fancy limonada" is "malinovy sirup, citron, soda, ananas."
"Europa highball" is "Compari operativ, pomerancova stava, tonic, citron."
"Hawaii sandwich" (another sighting) is white bread, cheese, ham, pineapple.
"South Bohemian potato and mushroom soup" was on one menu around here.
"Bohemian toast" and "Devils toast" were also spotted.
"Troughlets and whipped cream" was one dessert. Maybe they're really small truffles.
One restaurant offered "Fried Ravenous Fish" and "Jewish Ravenous Fish." Maybe the latter fish is circumcised, I dunno.
   On to Slovakia!
