I found my copy of /Portrait/, unopened for fifty years, and revisited its
pages with pleasure.  The idea of 200 words is absurd, of course.  I now
think it was a lecture by Frank O'Connor heard on KPFA many years ago that
left that ghost in my mind.  I wonder what he really said!  I think he was
talking about /Youth & the Bright Medusa/ and.....?
Well, all pretty much OT for this list, anyway.
