From Clementine Paddleford's column in the NEW YORK HERALD TRIBUNE, 27 February 1961, pg. 14, col. 4:

_Greek Colony_
When in Tampa get down to Tarpon Springs, if you can, there where the sponge boats dock, and allow a day of time visiting in this fascinating Greek community. A big feature will be dining at Louis Pappas Restaurant. Greek Salad and the Greek cuisine are worth the hour's drive to find. The restaurant serves sea foods of every kind from stone crabs to broiled shrimp in shell, U-Peel em, served with a lemon-olive sauce. There are green turtle steak and frog legs from the Everglades, and that most fabulous Greek Salad. Tampa women copy this salad and call it Fiesta; also the Spanish restaurants put on a good imitation.

   Back to work.
