Turtle

I wondered if anybody has ever heard the word "turtle" used to refer to the
"trunk" or "boot" of a car?

My grandmother (now deceased) always used turtle when referring to the trunk
of a car and one of my aunts does as well.

I've never heard anybody else use this word in reference to a car's trunk
other than them.

She lived (as I now do) in central Texas and I've never heard anybody here
use turtle in that context.
