Style of Email Quoting

This style of quoting, that is, use of some sort of quotation designator,
for *every line* is actually rather old. You see it in late 19th and early
20th century English-language books of a learned stripe. In English of
course, it's a single or double quote.

The use of «guillemets» is very European, and are commonly seen where we in
English would use "quotation marks".

»The use of a close-guillemet to offset each line of
»quote, however, at a time this far back, is interesting.

«English style, from an age this back, would seem to
«require open-guillemets.
