   From the NEW YORK HERALD TRIBUNE, 2 August 1947, pg. 9, col. 6:

   She does the specialties, the revioli, the gnocchi. the lasagna, the manicotti.

   Manicotti a la Neopolitana is the Saturday feature.  Squares of dough are rolled with a filling made with proscuitti ham and the ricotta cheese, egg yolk, and finely cut parsley.  The stuffed rolls are covered with a tomato sauce, then under the broiler to bubble and brown.
