In Czech, slivovice. (from sliva, plum [long mark over the i]). I think
it's spelled the same in Slovak and possibly Croatian. (The drink's the
same in Croatia, at any rate, and in the States I can only find Croatian
and Polish slivovice. In Slovakia, I've had homemade batches.

Extremely extremely potent. Oily, even. I advise not drinking it before
noon.
