Yep, Fritz has it right. It's too cold to surf here in Oregon, and skateboard wheels rust in all the rain. Poorly paid faculty do dress in half-rags--but that's hardly unique to the Northwest. And as for the "largely unknown" part, I agree with Fritz in that as well. I've heard California's very nice, however. PR
