Gado-gado appears in the Barnhart Dictionary Companion (Vol. 3, 2-3,
c.1984).  The earliest date then was 1977.  Thanks to you Barry for the
1969 quote.

Gado-gado also appears in Macquarie and the Longman Register of New
Words.  (See the Barnhart New-Words Concordance, p 142).
