toopaloons

A colleague here at IIT has asked me about this word, having heard it
on a New Jersey radio station.  The context was something like, "It's
real cold out there--better pull your toopaloons down over your ears."

I checked a couple of dictionaries, but found nothing under any
spellings that I could think of.

Is anyone familiar with the term?
