PFD, Pioneer homes; Duckfarts (cocktail)

Both _PFD_ and _personal flotation device_ are entered in The Third
Barnhart Dictionary of New English (c. 1990) with e.q.'s of 1972.  I
believe that was the year the Coast Guard invented the term.
