Thanks.  Just checked the archives and remembered the Uncle Tonoose
connection from the Danny Thomas Show (1950s).  So it looks like the Rocky
and Bullwinkle writers (1960s) took it from there and gave it to Boris
Badenov.  Any prior references?  How about post-60s?
