Heard this recently from a woman in her mid-50's who grew up in central MO.
She said that she'd heard it all her life and that her grandfather had used
it.

Interesting.  A quick search shows it being used now to advertise certain
aerial competitions like snowboarding, mountain biking, or boat towed belly
boards.
