READ MY LIPS

   I was watching MASK (1985)--the movie with Cher, not Jim Carey--again.  Cher says:

   Read my lips, Rocky!  No!

   This predates George Bush's "Read my lips!  No new taxes!" of 1988.  FWIW to Fred Shapiro.
