THE TRAVELS OF MENDES PINTO
FERNAO MENDES PINTO
edited and translated by Rebecca D. Catz
University of Chicago Press, Chicago
1989

Fernao Mendes Pinto died in 1583. His travel writings are important historical works for China and the Malay peninsula.
Rebecca Catz is a research associate in medieval studies at UCLA. She provides _three_ word glossaries at the end of this book; I copied them and then OED-tested them. Unfortunately, it appears that she was selective; food names don't turn up! I'll have to actually read the text!
OED uses a 1663 Pinto translation for about 466 citations.
