The German means "a slice" -- a sliver of cold cuts -- but if it's similar
to the use of the word "schnitzel" for a specific slice (weiner, of veal,
pariser, of pork), it would depend on the culture.  In Yiddish or Yinglish
it mighht mean "the customary slice of cold cuts"
