MANILA CLAM

   More local seafood for you Washington State readers.  "Manila clam" is not
in the revised OED?
   From the NEW YORK TIMES, 1 July 1990, pg. XX6: "The Manila, as it is
called, took hold in the 60's, and it is now the standard of the Northwest
clam industry."

   OED has 1884 for "sand dollar."  This "sea dollar" just looked
interesting.  Same thing?
   "Thousand dollars" sure throws off a "sand dollar" search.
