I've been casting nets into the wide Web sea because I've always
heard Mark's version, with a slightly different wording,
attributed to seignior Gates -- something more like, "It doesn't
need to be perfect. It only needs to work. Ship it."

Another maxim I've heard through years of software development
is, "Only God is perfect." a variant of the reasoning behind the
aforementioned "Ship it." -- loosely based on an age-old maxim
about flaws in handmade rugs.
