Merriam-Webster's 11th has 1986 for "habanero." OED has...?
Diana Kennedy's book is a classic and is by no means obscure. I'm counting on the LOS ANGELES TIMES to do better, but so far it doesn't even have "taco."

   Try It, You'll Like It
By CAROL ERON. The Washington Post, Times Herald (1959-1973). Washington, D.C.: Jul 8, 1973. p. BW8 (2 pages)
_The Cuisines of Mexico_, by Diana Kennedy (Harper & Row, $12.50) is an enthusiastic, definitive cookbook (Pg. BW9--ed.) in the manner of Julia Child. Diana Kennedy, an American who has lived in Mexico, is tireless in explaining every aspect of the art, special utensils and ingredients, the mysteries of Mexican seasonings and the varieties of Mexican chilies--chile chilaca ("real bite to it and a deep inky flavor"), chile habanero ("a smooth undulating surface and fiercely picante"), chile quero, chile ancho, chile mulato, chile chipotle, chile cascabel, chile pasilla, chile guajillo... She describes 20 or so of the hundred indigenous varieties.
