A friend of mine and I were driving one day in Cleveland, Ohio when we saw
some graffiti which read as follows: Linda is a hoe.
My friend who is from a rural area was totally puzzled by this until I
explained to him that the word hoe meant whore.
This is the only time I have seen this particular spelling although I have
quite often seen the word spelled ho on the sides of buildings.
I am guessing that both spellings are a triumph of phonics over knowledge of
proper English spelling but I do not know.
Can anyone tell me how the graffiti artists in their area of the world spell
Inquiring minds want to know.
