I'll give some little credit to Ed Boalnd, Jr.  He wrote "Although
etymologists have found the expression used as early as 1902,...."

He oviously read my article over at Straight Dope.  And that 1902 cite was
one  you found for me a few months back.  It was from a search of a
hand-written index of a newspaper.  Not on on-line data base, if I remember.
I don't believe that you ever cited that 1902 find anywhere except in a
e-mail to me.  Perhaps there is such a thing as an e-mail tracking system!
:)

Of course, the nitwit never mentioned you in the article.  As usual.
