There has been considerable discussion of scatological and euphemistic
infixes (My Fair Lady's famous "abso-bloomin'-lutely") on this list, but a
student of mine is interested in the spread of the hip-hop infix "-iz-",
used by rappers such as Snoop Doggy Dog in forms such as "bizzounce"
'bounce', "the bizzomb" 'the bomb', etc.

She has checked, but has found no formal papers on this formation, and I
wondered whether anyone on the list is aware of any, or has any
information on the origin and spread of this interesting usage.
Structurally, it resembles the rule in some children's "secret language",
but may or may not be related to this in its origins.
