Seriously though, and off the record, if I may suggest something. Neither I
nor Mr. Safire have any influence whatsoever over the editor's choice for
guest columns, and 900-1000 words isn't enough to do this subject justice,
but someone could submit a column to the guest column editor on one or a
few of the most egregious of these topics. If he [the editor that is]
chooses to publish it - it would be start.
