More on "Rapper's Delight"

[Fred Shapiro]

Another antedating from the 1979 song "Rapper's Delight" is the verb "rap"
in its musical sense, which appears in the song.  The OED (rap, v.1 3.e.)
has 1980 as its earliest citation.
