It was in place when I was a child, which is more years ago than I care to
think about.  But the idea of telling the Tooth Fairy what one wanted in
exchange for the tooth is unknown to me.  When I was a child, the Tooth
Fairy gave you ten cents for an ordinary tooth and 25 cents for a molar.
Which was a big deal in "those days".
