        It took me a moment to realize that I no longer say this.  It certainly was what we would say in rural south-central Kentucky, c. 1970.

Growing up in a small town I can remember using the term the "show" when referring to a movie that you go to a theater to see. Example:  Are you going to the show tonight?
Was this an old way of referring to the movies or the movie theater?  Anyone remember using this term?
