Centralia, Illinois (was "The show")

If memory serves, the nickname of the Centralia High School teams
is/was the "Orphans of the Storm." If this is correct, in the words of
James Brown and those of The Channels, Please, please, please! Explain
it to me! I've wondered about this since at least 1950. It surely is
the most depressing team nickname that I've ever heard of.
