Is anyone out there familiar with this book on dialects:

American Dialects: A Manual for Actors, Directors, and Writers
by Lewis Herman
<http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=books&field-author=Herman%2C%252520Lewis/104-3724447-1349554>,
Marguerite Shalett Herman
<http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/index=books&field-author=Herman%2C%252520Marguerite%252520Shalett/104-3724447-1349554>

(found on Amazon.com)

I came across it while looking for something for my class and was just
curious as to its accuracy. It might be something my writer friends
would like, since I always get questions about written dialects. But
I'm curious if anyone else is aware of it and what they think before I
either buy it or recommend it.

Thanks.

Freeman - And what drives you on, fighting the monster?

Straker - I don't know, something inside me I guess.

Freeman - It's called dedication.

Straker - Pig-headedness would be nearer.
