I am not a regular reader of everything that appears here by and about
Barry. But I enjoyed an article by Simon Houpt (shoupt at globeandmail.ca) in
this morning's paper, headed "A big Bronx Cheer for a man of his words"
(Toronto Globe & Mail, Sept. 4, 2004, page R3). The most interesting bit:
"If etymology didn't exactly give his life meaning, at least it gave him
something to do in his spare time, which he seems to have in abundance. He's
never been very successful at relationships." Really?
