i caught what i thought was the following on NPR's Morning Edition this
morning, in a report by (i think) Patty Murray: "...risk of making the
wrong choice and get..."

yes, "get", or whatever the verb was -- base form, not present
participle.  that was the notable thing.

but i'm unsure of the details of what i heard, and i can't find the
piece on the Morning Edition website for today.  did anyone catch it?
