Hinky Dinky

Thanks so much! I've collected scores of stanzas - but not this one! It's even more interesting for being pre-WWII.

A number of stanzas evidently sung during WW I follow a similar pattern, e.g.:

The Mademoiselle went over the top,
To rob the doughboys as they dropped.

The YMCA went over the top,
They thought they heard a nickel drop.

The YMCA was the "USO" of WWI - except it charged for coffee, snacks, etc.

The first marine went over the top, parlez-vous
The second marine went over the top, parlez-vous
The third marine went over the top
Because he her heard her panties drop
Hinky-dinky parlez-vous.
