antedating of "bangtail" (1812)

I can't antedate(yet) the term as applied to a generic name for a racehorse(M-W 1912) or the OED first cite of any kind in 1868.

The following is brought to you courtesy of Fred Shapiro's(or was it George Thompson?) Law (loosely quoted)----"many slang terms first appear as names for racehorses"


But, using Newspaperarchive, from the _Edinburgh Advertiser_  23 Oct. 1812. p 258/col 1

"Denghien, an entire horse, aged, colour brown, got by Bangtail by Highflyer, dam by Ruler.........."
