To which I add:

"A smoker will walk a mile for *any* cigarette!"

Unfortunately, I no longer remember the source of this or even the
exact reading. Readers Digest? This Week? Some radio show? I read it or
heard it some time in the '40's.

In any case, as a recovering smokaholic with just a soupcon of
emphysema, I can attest to the truth of the addendum.

* The "camel walk" was a popular dance amongst the colored in the
'Forties.
