Barry Popik sent a Dec. 25, 2003 ads-l message with a 1913 Fort Wayne Sentinel article on slang, which presents "hod dickety dog" as associated with Indianapolis. (parag. 2 of the article: "'Hod-Dickety-Dog' Is A New One That Comes from Indiana."). Barry's item is reprinted (+ glossary) in _Comments on Etymology_, March 2004, vol. 33, no. 6, pp. 6-9.
