My colleague Peter Gilliver has asked me to post this on his behalf:

I have recently begun work on a major commission to write a history of
the Oxford English Dictionary, to be published by OUP. I am planning to
cover the whole history of the project, from its beginnings in the late
1850s to the launch of OED Online; publication is not expected before
2015.

I would be pleased to hear from other scholars working in this
area, indeed from anyone with information to share which could
cast light on the history of the Dictionary.  I can be
contacted by email or by post at the address given below.
